1.General Description
- ZDQ series Full Automatic Liquid Resistor Starters are new generation starting equipment that are developed for improving the starting characteristic of large- and medium-sized winding asynchronous motors. The principle of them is that the resistance value of liquid resistor being connected in series to rotor circuit is improved smoothly, so as to realize no-impact smooth starting. Because of a fair large thermal capacity of the liquid resistor, their starting times in a unit time are more than other kind of starting devices, such as frequency sensitive rheostat. The characteristics of them are better than that of frequency sensitive, oil immersed rheostat starters. They are easy in maintenance and operate with high operating characteristic. The starting equipment of ZDQ series are widely used in 100kw-6000kw winding motors for heavily starting ball grinders, air blowers, rolling mills, water pumps and stone breakers used in building materials and metallurgical and some other industries.

2.2 Normal working environment of starter
The ambient temperature range is –25℃ to +45℃ and the elevation height is no more than 2000 meters.
The relative humidity is no more than 90 percent. There are not any explosive dangers, conductive and serious corrosive dust in the medium.
There is no obvious impact vibration in installation site.

4.Transportation and Hoisting
4.1 Impact shall be avoided during transporting and hoisting, so as not to make electric liquid cabinet be damaged and leak the liquid.
4.2 Inclination to vertical line should be less than 30°during hoisting.
5. Installation Requirements of Starter
5.1 It is suggested that liquid starting cabinet should be installed on the cement foundation where can drain.
5.2 The cabinet body should be installed as vertical as possible on horizontal plane.
5.3 The cabinet body should be installed right over the cable channel that is equipped with channel iron base according to its external dimensions
5.4 The cable of rotor of motor is connected to the starting plate on the rear side after running through a pipe.
6. Adjusting Method
6.1 Determinations of starting resistor
The resistance value RO of each phase of the resistor connected in series to circuit of motor rotor should be determined according to the following formula:

U2e: open-circuit voltage of rotor
I2e: Rated current of rotor
I1e: Rated current of stator
I1: Running current of stator
K: Constant (within the range of 1.1 to 1.3)
